Understanding The Hydrogen
Hub’s Role in the Region

The Edmonton Region Hydrogen Hub works to accelerate adoption by addressing ecosystem gaps and forging
high-value partnerships.

What is the primary role of the Edmonton Region Hydrogen Hub?

The Hub acts as an Ecosystem Convenor and Systems Integrator and Policy Advocate d businesses to build a thriving hydrogen economy. We develop the technical roadmaps and policy advocacy needed to accelerate hydrogen use across key sectors like heavy transport and aviation.

How does the Hub impact the local Edmonton region?

We drive economic growth by attracting global vehicle integrators and establishing sustainable supply chains, such as liquid hydrogen transport by rail. Additionally, we prepare the local workforce through specialized safety training and provide municipalities with the tools to transition their public fleets to hydrogen.

Who should partner with the Hub?

We connect the entire hydrogen value chain from technology developers and research organizations to municipal leaders and global investors. If you are looking to expand operations, reduce carbon footprints, or invest in Western Canada’s energy future, the Hub provides the collaborative platform to make it happen.

Why is the Edmonton region uniquely positioned for a hydrogen economy?

The Edmonton region is a natural leader due to its existing energy infrastructure, skilled workforce, and suitability for large-scale production. By 2026, our goal is to be recognized as a premier North American hub, leveraging these regional gaps to attract global vehicle integrators and investment.
